Hi everyone. I'm OUO. This time I'd like to share some info with everyone about the hero Yorn and some of the things I've learned.
First of all, I can't avoid mentioning some info concerning the revisions to Yorn's abilities in the updated edition. In the first major revision in Arena of Valor's hero attributes after 3 months, many of the T1 heroes have been gradually phased out in favor of many of the weaker heroes, who are slowly gaining in popularity. Yorn is a Marksman who has been buffed in this update. Now let's have a look at some of the differences, past and present.
Changes to his Ultimate
Heart Shot. I believe this would be the change to excite many Yorn players the most. At the end of the day, this won't get blocked by Minions and Monsters, and although there hasn't been any damage increase, it has become easier to take down the Abyssal Dragon (before you also still had to make sure to avoid Minions).
Tips
(1) The Ultimate is now more agile as it still inflicts major ranged damage even if passing through Minions.
(2) A lot of people don't know this but the economy and experience gained from laning crabs can be a really critical part of development. The use of her Ultimate will let you directly the crabs for yourself when their health is down to around 1/6th.
(3) It's not uncommon to go plundering an Abyssal Dragon or Caesar. You can use the features of the Ultimate (it will disappear about striking a hero) to search out the other team as to whether or not they are taking on the Abyssal Dragon or Ceasar. Often you will only need to fire behind Caesar and the arrow will suddenly disappear - that means that the enemy is now taking it on.
Passive changes
Fierce Shot. Damage has been changed from its original 0.6 to 0.7. It seems this isn't too much of a difference, whereas in fact his damage has been exponentially boosted and it has put Yorn's damage on another level. That will make you the strongest of Marksman when paired with Soulreaver.
Next, let's have a look at what equipment to put with Yorn. When it comes to the hero Yorn, at the moment, equipping him with the Soulreaver will really give him an incredible advantage, particularly when taking on Tanks; the damage really will be a lot higher than with typical equipment.
Â
Equipment choices
Shoes: One would normally only consider Hermes' Select or Sonic Boots with the decision based on how many controlling abilities you'll have on the field.
Example, when you have Airi, you can consider equipping the Hermes'Select, and if you have heroes like Wukong or Batman, then you might want to lean towards equipping Sonics Boots.
Slikk's Sting vs Claves Sancti I don't particularly like equipping Slikk’s Sting. Although it seems very strong and seems to suit the hero well, you will find that it lacks attack damage for the early game, and so I would lean towards equipping Claves Sancti for my third piece of equipment to supplement your attack and critical hit rates, increasing Yorn's damage potential.
The final equipment decision: Beforehand I said that I don't like using Slikk's Sting. I would prefer to replace it with the Fenrir's Tooth. Although a bit pricier, it would mean an explosive damage boost and so, for the last piece of equipment, I would go with Fenrir's Tooth.

Finally, how to use the Marksman Yorn. First, you need to understand where this hero's strength lies, how to stabilize the situation when the tide of battle goes against you, and how to maximize your strengths when things are going well - that is key.

Yorn when the battle is going your way:
It is actually quite hard to dominate with Yorn before he gets to level 4 unless you have Junglers to come and help or if your opponent makes a serious mistake. You had best fall back at once when you see Violet rolling about as that will work to minimize the damage you receive. You had best use his second ability to harass the opponent while you keep falling back to avoid damage if you can’t escape damage outright.
The first half to 2 minutes of the game is the time you should be jungling your way to level 4. The two heroes on the Abyssal Dragon lane at this time will be level 2 at most, which point in the game's timeline you had best keenly observe your own and your opponent's jungling movements. Should your side intend to go ganking on the Abyssal Dragon whilst jungling then make sure you're prepared beforehand to give the Junglers on your side a good opportunity to enter the field (often it is relatively better for you to make the first move and then have the Junglers come into the field afterwards). Should Yorn manage to take down the first Abyssal Dragon, then congratulations! You've made it to your 'golden era'.
You will most probably have already equipped shoes and a Soulreaver at the 5-8 level stage, and already got one half of Fafnir's Talon. This is the time in which you will have hitherto unseen damage dealing capabilities in team engagements. You will want to pay more attention to your juking, go and observe team movements when the time suits, and avoid getting left out on your own or failing to join in team engagements.
If you have managed to develop very well in the later stages of the game and to have equipped Muramasa, then congratulations! Now you need not fear Assassins at all. Assassins will be straightforwardly slain in your counterattack should they be unable to immediately take you out. Of course, I should still emphasize just the same that you still need to work out every character’s control abilities when you initially enter the fray, and try as much as possible to enter only after you've waited for the enemy to have already discharged their control abilities. Then you will have the joy of going through your opponents like swiss cheese.
Laning analysis:
Violet: This hero is really strong in the early game and so in theory it would be best to avoid going toe-to-toe with Violet unless she makes a mistake as the damage from her first ability is a bit much. Plus, her standard attacks will reduce the cooldown on his first ability. Should you take two continuous hits from Violet's first ability when battling it out with her then Yorn will most probably end up on pretty low health. And so one must try as much as possible to use Yorn's second ability to restrict enemy movement before reaching level 4 because if Violet has thrown out her first ability by then she will definitely end up taking 3 or 4 lots of damage from his second ability. Try not to actively go and push the Minion lanes (except for the first wave, as you can get easy hits off on crabs), but wait for the enemy to push their Minions to you before making short work of them with your first ability and normal attacks.
